Torrents refer to a computer file that contains metadata or information about another data that is to be distributed through torrent distribution system, which is more or less likened to a community of users sharing data. Therefore, it is important to note that a torrent file does not actually contain the data required but only contains information such as the file size and folder structure that is if it is in compressed or not. This community consists of trackers- which are the computers or servers that help participants in the sharing community to find each other in order to exchange data. The community also comprises of a seed which refers to a participant who has already finished downloading the data he/she required and is now sharing to others who require it, that is peers. Therefore, seeding in torrenting refers to leaving your torrent client open hence enabling other peers to download from. Now that we have understood how this community works let us see how we can download movies using torrent files. First of all, if you want to download any file you require its torrent files, therefore for movies the following are some of the well-known torrent sites: 1. The Pirate Bay 2. RARBG 3. YTS 4. TORRENTZ2 5. EZTV Once you have obtained the torrent files for the movies you want to download, its time now to use the applications that does all the work of connecting you to a reliable torrent community. Therefore, at this stage I recommend using Utorrent or BitTorrent apps for this purposes, having used them. The next stage is easy, after installing and opening either one of the above applications you just have to copy and paste the torrent file for the movie you want to download on to the app. It is important to note downloading files from torrents takes a lot of time, especially with large files, but it is efficient in that before the download starts you are prompted to make sure that all the files you want to download are present and also once the download has begun you are sure that it won’t fail even if your network is disrupted unlike downloading directly from search engines. Note also that the trackers which provide you with the data you want to download are always provided by the torrent client i.e. Utorrent and BitTorrent by default but sometimes they may not be working or down for some reasons, hence the importance of adding your own trusted trackers to the ones provided. Don’t worry you are not the one to come up with them, but you can obtain them from them search engines. I do not recommend any sites since the trackers keep changing with time others being outdated, therefore it’s up to you to look for the trackers for the specific file you are downloading and then add them following the below procedure: -
Apart from this there are some minor additional setting in your torrent client app you can play around with to increase the speed of download. One of such method is Bandwidth allocation. This mainly applies where one is downloading more than one file, emphasis in terms of data allocation can be given to the more important file as per your choosing or preference, that is ranging from high, normal to low. When you decide to increase the bandwidth allocation for a given file that means, a higher proportion of data is given to the chosen data in relation to others hence downloading it with a higher speed.
